… and it sounds like we _are_! 🙂 Let’s hammer home the fact that The Straight Dope can save people some huge bucks if they join here, either free or as a paid member. Pretty sure they claim the right to use anything you post in any way they want already, as part of the stuff you agree to when setting up an account. ---

**Scissorjack** , I’d be there! Drums, guitars and all! For **TubaDiva** : Oh yes! I have learned that before I make any kind of major purchase (especially as it relates to music or computers) this is always my first stop. There are so many of our members who are knowledgeable and give such great advice (and do it gladly with no insults), that it isn’t any wonder we’re the number one international message board. Since he was retitring anyway, you should have used **Czarcasm** as bait for the membership drive: “If 50 new members sign up, we’ll fire **Czarcasm**!!!” ---
