Mike Patton.
Joe Satriani
Frank Zappa. Huge catalog, enormously varied. The only catch is that I’m already almost over-familiar with most of it.
I’ve got over a 100 of their concerts on CD, and only a couple are crap.
Vienna Phil would be okay.
Beethoven would be okay.
Steely Dan.
Or the London Symphony.
When I opened the thread this was my pick.
faithfool is wise. She met him. Seen a pic.
The Beatles, or maybe The Who. It would be a tough choice.
I’d probably go with The Who.
Led Zeppelin. Somehow they were imprinted on me at just the right time, I never grow tired of them.
The Church-mainly because their catalogue is varied enough in terms of styles to continue to keep me entertained, and that I am still deciphering their lyrics even after 30 years of listening to them.
Scorpions.
As well as headbanging metal, they’ve done ballads, an acoustic album, and an album with the Berlin Philharmonic. Some of their songs are excellent workout music. And unlike some similar bands, their lyrics are often upbeat rather than angry or depressing.
And Wind of Change still makes me shiver and tear up, reminding me that anything - anything - can happen.
Beatles.
(Saw them in 1965, couldn’t live without them 47 years later.)
Easy for me…Paul Simon.
Just the thought of this is absolutely depressing. I’m not even sure I’d like to entertain the idea, but I will give it a try – The Magnetic Fields or Paul Simon…for their beautifully and witty lyrics, and for their terrific styles and melodies.
Ok, phew, I’m glad that’s over…now back to reality and a wide variety of music!
Yes.
Me too.
I don’t know if the Scorpions have a lifetime of music in them, but I admire your pick.
John Williams.
Though it probably wouldn’t bother me if it was nobody. Not much of a fan of music.
Billie Holiday.
Frank Zappa. 91 extremely eclectic albums from rock to jazz to bebop to classical to avant garde.
Thank you.
Alice is the man! He’s tackled psychedelia, garage rock, heavy metal, top 40, punk, New Wave, pop, whatever Brutal Planet and Dragontown could be classified as and ballads. His catalog runs to 25 albums, not counting collaborations and or special recordings, like for Christmas.
And he takes an awesome picture!!
