I love David Lean movies and sweeping historical epics. Not just Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago, but Hidalgo too. And I liked the 13th Warrior.
There’s also Funny Girl and Funny Lady.
John Candy. I like goofy comedies from the 80s and early 90s, and Candy was the king of those. They might not be Oscar material but I really enjoy these movies that he stars in.

I could get behind this. 13-year-old me was quite devastated when he passed away, as I absolutely loved his movies. Even now, they are usually just fun, in a way that Hollywood currently is unable to reproduce.
