In the spirit of the day, [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=753147) made me think about socks on SDMB. If you were to create a sock, what would it do or say? Argue with yourself in GD? Agree with yourself? Insult the mods? Ask all the questions you were too embarrassed to do under your real name? Complain about your girlfriend not holding in her poop for a month? ---

In all seriousness, Iā€™d have one for GD. Iā€™ve avoided GD for the past 11 years because I _know_ I wonā€™t be able to remain civil and my ass will wind up getting banned. But if I could set up a sock just for that forum, Iā€™d do it and try to enjoy whatever time I had there. šŸ™‚ ---

Maybe create a username that is only one letter different from another more popular user (like use an o instead of an a, or an l for an i). Use it to argue with that person. Or just create mischief. I wonder if I created ā€œShodonā€ and signed the bottom ā€œRegards,Shodanā€, how long would it take for people to notice. ---
