When the installers were done, one of them asked me for my wi-fi code in order to hook up my NEST to the internet. I told him I wanted no such thing. He looked at me like I had grown a third eyeball in the middle of my forehead.
“But you can program your settings from your phone! You can control your thermostat when you’re away via the internet!”
Uh, yeah. Right. I have no desire whatsoever to have my thermostat connected to the internet, and of course (since that’s the focus of this thread), I don’t have a smartphone.
I’ll take another look. But I think I jimmied around with every setting or option available from the menu and came up blank.
I’m sure I never set up a “schedule” for it. I just manually set it at what I want. For example, last night around 9:00 I reset the temp down a few notches and it said “until 11:15.” WTF? And sure enough when I wake up in the morning, it’s back at the original temp. If I set it later at night (say, after midnight), it will say “until 6:30.” Dammit, just do want I tell you to do!
