# If you have a hidden profile it is more difficult to follow your arguments

@codinghorror’s [post](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/i-don-t-care-for-the-way-discourse-handles-private-profiles/929498/4) linked above suggests that it may be possible to disable the ability to hide your profile, but still allow you to hide your “presence.” If so, that might be worth looking into.
