Naturally, the category I latched onto immediately was the buttocks one. I never heard of a bustle as part of a wedding dress , but otherwise didn’t have much trouble with today’s puzzle. The purple one was easy. ---

Here was my thought process and generally how I approach purple: PEC was obviously an out-of-place word. I assumed from the beginning it was a purple. So what could PEC be? There’s no other anatomy-related word. Adding β€œS” to it and other words doesn’t help. Could it be the start or ending of a word? Well, it’s unlikely a word ends with PEC, so what starts with PEC? At first I thought of countries and cities, and then I realized PECAN is a word that begins with PEC. Are there any other nuts? Well, we’ve got MAC, which was another suspcious purple-probable word. MACadamia. And HAZElnut and CASHew came quickly after that. There’s a certain number of common tricks they use for purple, so once you find a candidate purple word, you can run them through your head to try to figure out which one they’re using. ---
