It seems pretty clear. FA said “Don’t do that!” Bozo did that. FA gets hit in the head. Bozo gets even more bozo. FA does a 10.0 swan dive into unemployment. Good for him. I say sick 4chan on Mr. Overhead Compartment Guy. Heinlein was pretty clear-- that it was usually worth giving up your place in line for those who were taking care of the line jumpers. ---

I’m a bit confused now… "He was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. … “At no time was the security or safety of our customers or crew members at risk,” the company said." Are those emergency slide things dangerous or not? And since he was presumably the only one using it… is it actually illegal to recklessly endanger yourself? ---

I read that he was recklessly endangering anyone who might have been walking below the exit. Whatever happens to this guy, I hope he’s got a new career ahead of him as a celebrity spokesperson or inspirational speaker or something. He’s my new hero. ---

The passenger was the one who started it. He deserves to be arrested for assault with a suitcase, and interfering with an airplane crewmember., The latter charge is very serious in this post9/11 world. ---

That’s pretty cool, and working in the aviation industry myself, I can understand his motivation. But here are a few ways I could imagine topping him. Preface each by yelling, “I QUIT!!!”: - A fighter pilot ejecting himself from his aircraft in flight - A nuclear plant operator just pressing every damn button in sight - David Letterman disrobing and cavorting naked through the streets of New York on live TV ---
