There is a certain recent poster with a 1-track mind whose threads I would prefer not to see at all. Any chance? ---

Yes you can. You won’t be able to see their posts inside the threads they start (unless you click on View This Post), but you will still see the thread title and who started it in a forum’s list of threads. ---

Maybe you could try doing some experiments. If you try 755 techniques, perhaps you can figure it out? ---

Someone mentioned once that there’s some sort of program or something you can install that makes it where you can’t even see there’s a post there from someone. Dunno what that involves, but maybe that would work for threads too. ---

Scripting at least the part that hides threads wouldn’t be too hard, I’d think, as there’s a difference: Threads started by people on your Ignore list have no tooltip. You should be able to hide it. Anyone with Greasemonkey or JavaScript experience want to try it? ---

Also, I make this suggestion every time this comes up, but I rarely see anyone actually try it: Put someone on ignore and see what happens. It’s a completely reversible process. No giant red flag shoots up a flagpole somewhere that might suggest you’re a bad person for doing so, nothing suggests that you’re not 100% committed to fighting ignorance in every dark crevice of the universe. Hell, put ME on ignore, and see what happens. (Though I can’t remember the last thread I started, so that wouldn’t be super useful in this instance.) And for that matter: Go through your User CP and press ALL the buttons. See what happens. It’s not going to turn the internet off. ---

Generally speaking, the posts from spammers, trolls, and socks are often wished away to the cornfield. This is not anything new. Questions about a specific user’s banning or posts being disappeared should be handled via pm to a moderator.
