# If you thought responsibility was dead in North America...

…perhaps a visit to Italy is in order.

According to [this article](http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/gas-mixup-suspected-of-killing-eight-patients/2007/05/07/1178390227711.html) a new hospital in Italy managed to kill eight patients as a result of a contracted company who accidentally switched the oxygen and anesthetic gas tubes.

Pretty horrible in its own right, of course, but the interesting bit of eye-opening came courtesy of the Italian health minister:

Sure. _This_ time. Once this mess is cleared up though, it’s back to the usual round of fingers pointing at everyone but themselves.
