Me, napping in my dorm room after a grueling day of movement class and improvisation. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra, performing the 1812 Overture over by the lake. In other words, far enough away that I couldn’t hear the music, but could hear the cannonfire. I woke up with the first boom\* and for several minutes was sure that the Russians had invaded. - FTR, it’s noted in the score as _ffff_. ---

Just a side note… When Tyson fought Brian Nielsen in Copenhagen, Nielsen entered the ring to “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life” from the Monty Python film “Life Of Brian”. I always thought there was something hilarious about that. I’ve often thought about this. Classics like “I’m Gonna Knock You Out” by L.L. Cool J. are hard to beat. As a proud Canadian, I’d like to choose something by a Canadian artist, but we don’t do a lot of “I’m gonna kick your a\*\*” music. I’ve often thought it would be really intimidating to enter in total silence, but I imagine it would be hard to get the crowd to cooperate.
