Paul Newman played it correctly – you choose a classier woman like Nancy Bacon who has the grace to be discrete. He gets the best of both words: the mistress and the dignity of going to his grave with fans thinking he’s a saintly husband. Where Tiger Woods went wrong was messing around with a bimbo cocktail waitress who calls his home phone. Moral of the story: get a separate cell phone for the mistress, and make sure you have a prenup before you get married. 😃 ---

I remember reading somewhere (can’t find it now) about a study of lottery winners. Basically the gist of it was if you were a miserable old biddy before you won, you’d still be a miserable old biddy after the fact. I’m a 39 yo single male, never been married, and that is fine with me. If I suddenly became very wealthy I don’t think I’d have the sudden desire to get married and have a family. Someone up thread mentioned the “Clooney lifestyle.” That’s pretty much how I live now only with much, much less money. ---

Funny, I was just thinking about this today. I have to be honest. If I had the sort of money and fame that had hot women constantly throwing themselves at me, I wouldn’t be able to keep it in my pants. But I’m honest enough about this to realize that I should stay away from committed relationships if I did become rich and famous. ---

I’m not married, and being a famous multimillionaire wouldn’t make me want to get married, so no, I wouldn’t get married. However, if I got married, I would be faithful, because that’s how I am. (I don’t want to get married because I’ve _been_ married) ---

I remember thinking the same thing when Paul Newman died, when everybody and their dog couldnt say enough about what a faithful, classy man Newman was.:rolleyes: I think that Tom Hanks started fucking his current wife Rita Wilson while he was still married to his first wife, and yet there are millions who somehow think he is a rare Hollywood paragon of virtue and olde fashoned family values. I have never cared too much for George Clooney, but at least he seems to realise there is no point for him to remarry, when he can tomcat around all he wants and still be considered a nice guy.
