Oddly phrased choices (what, we couldn’t get actual age ranges?), so I went with what seemed best to match what I’d like.
I’m about a month from my 27th birthday, and I’d like to tack a couple more years on if I were going to stay that age forever. So, somewhere in the 30-40 range. (Female, FWIW.) For lack of a better option, I picked “middle-aged” up top, though these days that would actually equate to something more like 40-50.
Would have been interesting to see this broken down as male/female, too.
32 years old. Of course, when I actually was 32, people assumed I was younger, because of my boyish face. So when I was 32, I actually looked 26. So are we going by how we actually looked when we were age X, or some theoretical absolute standard?
I think this is a good time to mention that just because you’re immortal doesn’t mean you’re going to automatically be a HOT immortal.
A few people (men, I think) mention staying at a certain age so they can date supermodels and young hotties. Unless you’re pulling down supermodels NOW (or then as it was when you were that age) I doubt being immortal is gonna do it for you either.
I like bodies that look a little lived-in. Anything else is just too.. callow. Not to mention, you’d be stuck dating people who’re attracted to 21-year-olds, who probably won’t be the most mature bunch on the planet.

Agree completely. Plus, aside from the dating aspect, it’s hard to be taken seriously in nearly every business field (save perhaps PC games tester) when one looks 21. The best of all worlds, IMHO, was mid-30’s or even early 40’s.
I’d settle for mid-40’s right now, with the addition that I also get to lose about 30 lbs as well.
I reckon so too. After all, we all know we’re going to die at some point anyway, so taking risks just changes the date. Immortals would be risking a death that they might otherwise never have to face.
You’re forgetting the most important rule of picking up chicks: Money = success! And immortality definitely equals money, if for no other reason than the principles of compounding interest.
I’d want to be 27. I can still get the 21 yr olds and still be taken seriously in the workplace. I can always say I’m 34 and I just age really well, or that I’m actually 23 and just look older.
Here are my thoughts:
It’s easier to fake being older than younger. There are always excuses like plastic surgery I could use for not looking older.
I think the biggest jump is between young adult or teenager. Any younger would be to obviously young.
Teenagers have a lot of hormone adjusting. Not fun at all.
Also, I’d want to marry the youngest people I could manage, so I could have as long a life with them as I could. That forces me into the younger age ranges.
I think I’d go with young adult, at about age 21 or so. At that age, I still look the same as I did at 16, so that gives me the young thing, without having to worry about the hormones of sixteen. I’m not sure I don’t still look 21, though, so maybe I have some room to work. But the health of youth means I’ll be skinnier, and I think my weight helps me look the same.
You’re female, right? I’d suggest that the reverse applies for men. The old ‘sugar daddy’ cliché. Grab the ladies while they’re young and you can keep them for decades. Or just ‘sponsor’ them through college.
