# If you were on death row, but you were NOT a turkey . . .

On the last Thursday of every November, we gorge ourselves on food. Good food. The best food. It is a holiday with little else involved, other than watching the Detroit Lions lose.

Anyhoo, in the 50’s, some turkey herder (or corsortium of herders) gave the President and Vice-President a turkey each. To be pardoned, you see (The President can ‘pardon’ most, if any, convictions.)

The turkeys then are taken to some farm where they live out the rest of the lives, uneaten. Nice little joke. Amusing. Not quite as amusing as the reaction of the tofu-loving asshats that complain about it, but amusing nonetheless.
