# If you worked at a video store, what would you watch?

Here’s the deal. I usually get into the funky video store that I work at around 4 or 5 at night. Before, say, 8 PM we have to watch kiddie-happy movies, so we don’t horrify the kids. After that, it’s up for grabs. On Friday the 13th, we watched Dead Alive. Eep.
However, I’ve worked there for 4 weeks, and am running out of favorite movies to watch. I work with three boys, and one chick. One of the boys is a huge Star Wars fan. He almost got smacked last night when he made a psuedo-snide remark about my choice of The Philidelphia Story as the kiddie-happy movie. There is the artsy guy who is nice enough to not give me grief about anything I pick. The other guy has been on vacation, so I don’t know what he likes. The chick is WAAAY too much like me in every way possible, so we agree on most movies.
I’m big on theme nights. We usually have time for one kid happy movie and two R rated movies in one night. Devise some fun theme nights that my coworkers will enjoy. Some things to remember: these movies are background noise, something to stare at when there is a lull in the crowds. Complicated or subtitled movies tend to be hard to follow, though we did watch Run, Lola Run the other night. Anything with audible sex scenes tends to make anyone who is in the store stop whatever they are doing and stare with disbelief at the TV. So porn is out.

How’z about showing some of these films which I’ve seen once or twice and really liked and am always meaning to see again, but I always draw a blank on when I actually get to the movie rental place (and thus they end up renting the latest Robin Williams piece-of-crap du jour).

Pornos…all the Pornos available. I’d put em in, and jack the volume at the good parts…
But not just normal pornos…those cheesy pathetic ones with a plot. So that way there is a bit of something happening and people think they’re watching a movie…then bam…uhhh…uhhh…ahhhhh…ohhhhh…mmmmmm…yeah yeah…ahhhh.right there, right there, yeah yeah yeah…ad nauseum.
That would be fun. Sure I’d get fired, but the kodak moments would be worth it.

Going through all the James Bond movies would keep you occupied for a while, especially if you included the non-canon titles _Casino Royale_ and _Never Say Never Again_ (not that I would recommend that you or anyone see _Casino Royale_).
You need to throw in a few Musical Nights, too. _Fiddler On The Roof, Gigi, My Fair Lady, West Side Story_…they just don’t make 'em like that anymore.

Sextette.

I’m sorry, but I can not take any review of _Can’t Stop the Music_ seriously if it doe not mention Steve Guttenburg. The scene of him rollerskating down the streets of New York is classic.
As for Sextette, merely look at the list of stars in it.

These two movies are in the so bad I can’t stop looking catagory. But again, when I would play these movies, people would literally stop in their tracks and stare blankfaced at the screen. Usually, a couple braver ones would come up and ask “What the hell is that”
Makes the job that more entertaining. Plus, they are completely suitable for kids. So play them when lots of families are around.
