My name would be a Depression era, vegetable and broth stew; concocted by the newly homeless as a form of basic sustenance. It was satirically named, as most of the people eating it were told “don’t blame me, I’m just the middleman here!” when their homes were foreclosed. Though the name enjoyed bitter origin, over the years the meaning was lost and people who ate it as apple-cheeked children during a respite on a cold winter’s day would remember it fondly. ---

As a Drink: A shot from EVERY bottle in the bar, over ice, served in a beer-pitcher, and shared with friends at a table. No one leaves the table until it is gone. As a Food: Probably a spicy hot-dog, topped with homemade chili and raw red oinions. ---
