I don’t _think_ I’ve ever butt-dialed anyone, but the first time _I_ was butt-dialed was from my now-husband. At the time, we were long-distance dating, across country, and he’d butt-dialed me while he was driving his boys home to their mom’s house. I got to listen to them all talking and laughing, and it was the first time I got to ‘see’ them all together and interacting. It was very, very sweet. ---

Butt sailors do it on the poop deck. Heh heh. I think I’ve recounted this before, but many years ago just as I was getting home from the pub one night, I got a phone call from a girl at work who I fancied the pants off but had got nowhere with. It was a butt-dial (that’s a new expression on me BTW), and her butt was apparently getting jiggy with another butt at the time. ☹ ---

I get butt dialed all the time (wonder why?) Never listen to the whole message. In fact, whenever I get voicemail, the caller has 5 seconds to prove he’s not a butt. ---

A good friend of ours butt-dialed my husband once. We were sitting next to one another on the couch, so my husband held it up for both of us, and we listened to our friend read _Green Eggs and Ham_ to his twin boys. It was very sweet. We thanked him later for the bedtime story. 😃 ---

There are interesting parallels between butt-dialing, and accidentally leaving a video-camera on “record”. The parallel is closest if the videocamera happens to be a cell phone. In our household, the common culprit is not anyone’s butt, but rather the toddler in our midst. He’s dialed various folks at one time or another, and once captured a few seconds of video as he, his mom, and me were driving down the interstate. I’ve kept the snippet on my phone, because (similar to others’ posts) it’s a sweet reminder or a typical, unguarded family moment. ---

Moderators, please do not fix this thread title. I was only butt-dialed once, by my Mom, and it was basically her arguing with her boyfriend. But yeah I would be inclined to listen to the whole message. It’s like some kind of espionage, hearing what people are saying when you’re not around. ---
