Ah, the classic signs of the asshole of the first degree!

1. The assholish comment, just stupid enough not to be passed over, but not bad enough for being banned outright.

2. The “I can’t believe you guys are so lame, getting worked up over something on the In-tar-net! Don’t you know everyone’s just a figment of your imagination on the In-tar-net?!? Why care about what they say? Boy, you guys crack me up!” comment.

3. The regression to kindergarten and “Can’t you do any better than that? Wow, what a great insult!” type comments. Also, a severe lack of any actual responses, probably because said poster is not bright enough to actually understand the insults and/or demands for explanations and is unable to respond to them.

Taking a look at tarpal’s history, it’s a miracle he has escaped the big-capital-letters-under-his-name look so far. For your enlightment, a brief posting history of Our Friend!

tarpal seems to have a particular fondness for GQ. He starts out strong, with an irrelevent and moronic comment in that previously mentioned forum. He manages to piss off numerous people and break a few rules within just 2 posts! The racism, however, does not yet manifest.

He then goes for a few day without managing to make a complete idiot of himself. Obviously he can manage being a reasonable human being, so why, tarpal? Why?

Then he pops over to the breeding ground for racists thread, also known as “What gender-race combo is most likely to enter into an inter-racial relationship?”

My observations have been that most of the time you see a white woman with a black man, the woman is often of the obese, Jerry Springer-watching, trailer-trash variety.

(please don’t flame me. this is just my opinion from experience.)

He seems to be sarcastic here, though given his later comments, I feel this may be cast in doubt.

Later, tarpal continues his uneducated and uncited dribblings on how blacks are eeeeeeeeeeevil in this thread. On the subject of black culture, he comments:

If you are asking if I think that a culture which respects life, property and women, promotes social and personal responsibility, embraces education and values the family is “better” than one which does none of these, then shoot me, yes I do.

We can see that tarpal is making friends at a young age already.

tarpal makes his first journey to GD, in a thread about, surprise surprise, race. Amazingly, his post is not actually offensive (in a racist way), but it again shows his pattern for making unsupported and irrelevent comments in perfectly innocent threads.

Here, tarpal shows his admirable command of citing with posting a comment about Jesse Jackson from the David Duke website.

In case you are unaware of who David Duke is, his website explains that racism is really a conspiracy of the other races to keep the superior whites downtrodden - a conspiracy headed by the “negroes,” no doubt.

What then, is “racism?” It is considerably more than any dictionary is likely to say. It is any opposition by whites to official policies of racial preference for non-whites. It is any preference by whites for their own people and culture. It is any resistance by whites to the idea of becoming a minority people. It is any unwillingness to be pushed aside. It is, in short, any of the normal aspirations of people-hood that have defined nations since the beginning of history - but only so long as the aspirations are those of whites.

tarpal miraculously manages to be racist in a thread about gold teeth. Now that is determination! He asks, completely out of the blue and utterly fucking irrelevently, what percentage of these gold-teeth-wearing people are african americans? No doubt, tarpal believes this is yet another area where blacks are just inferior to whites: fashion sense.

Skipping ahead, (I’ll leave the best - worst? - for last) tarpal is reprimanded in GQ for his habit of leaving his droppings of painfully stupid and un-cited racist comments in GQ threads.

General Questions is for providing factual answers to people’s questions. Your post has nothing to do with providing a factual answer to the question which has been asked, and that sort of inflammatory hijack is not appropriate to the GQ forum.

Having read this thread (and the other one) I’m stunned that Meatros is the first to write what I’ve thought all along since seeing tarpal’s first post on this subject. I admire the SDMB but sometimes you guys are just far too credulous.

Think about it. Based on his other posts tarpal is reasonably intelligent, but he is also something of a bigot and has deliberately chosen his name to tweak the sensibilities of others who do not share his perspective. Possibly there is professional just careless and idiotic enough to out themselves as a bigot in word and deed, when they and their company could be sued into the ground by someone angry or vindictive enough and with the net smarts to track them down. Possible? Yes, but not at all likely.

True anonymity on the net is a fiction and tarpal is smart enough to intuit this. There is about as much chance of tarpal’s being a “well paid” professional in charge of hiring for a large company as there is of monkeys flying out of Cecil’s ass. Tarpal is a poser and he is having a huge horselaugh at everyone’s expense.

I’d agree. Note the time stamps on his posts on the thread: 9:25 to 11:56 AM CST on a Friday. Assuming he’s posting from the U.S. (and his particular brand of bigotry suggests that he is), at least some of these must have been sent out during normal work hours (between 10:25-12:56 if he’s EST, 7:25 and 9:56 if PST). (If he’s in Alaska or Hawaii, then he must have started his posts in the middle of the night.)

I doubt many human resource managers are on the swing or graveyard shifts. If tarpal actually has such a job, he must be posting from work. And I don’t think anyone, no matter how racist, is moronic enough to post messages admitting to racism in hiring from a work computer. Ergo, it’s very unlikely he has such a job, or in fact any professional level job at all.

I suspect Meatros has identified his actual employment.
