Don’t worry; this isn’t about who is or isn’t on my 'Ignore" list. But my memory is becoming sieve-like. It’s not so much that I can’t remember WHY someone is on it, but occasionally, when I encounter the dreaded > [@](#): > > This message is hidden because **posteronyourignorelist** is on your ignore list. message, I sometimes find I have lost the thread of HOW LONG AGO I put the poster there. I doubt that the software can make this information available for the [NUMBER REDACTED] posters currently on my list. But does the software have a feature in the User CP that (if turned on) would, going forward, permit one to look up the most recent date that the targeted poster was put on the list? ---

I want to piggyback off of this to ask if users you’ve ignored can PM you, and if users you’ve ignored can read your posts. ---

I’m not a VBulletin expert, but based on my limited experience and some googling, I wasn’t able to find anything. If there is an add-on that provides this feature, I didn’t find it. (I believe we’ve tested this. Plus I’m pretty sure I’ve PMed someone who publicly announced they put me on ignore.) vBulletin seems to be set up in such a way as to not let the person know you have them on ignore. Hiding your posts or giving a failure message for a PM would give that away. Keeping track of when you put someone on ignore would be possible with a userscript. I don’t think I’d personally want to mess with it, but maybe someone else would. I find it simpler to just occasionally go back and look at the poster’s recent posts, and see if they are bad. If not, then I take them off ignore. It doesn’t matter to me whether they’ve become better posters or if I was wrong to put them on, or whatever else. And, if you’d rather keep track, you can always just pull up a text document and leave yourself a note. ---

I don’t know if you somebody on your ignore list can PM you but oddly you can PM them. I once had someone PM me that they were putting me on ignore, then years later I got a PM wondering if I had changed and whether they should reconsider or continue to ignore me. I didn’t bother with a reply but I wonder if they would have received it anyway. ---
