You need to go back and read more carefully. Nowhere did I deny that I am against the Muslim religion. People are free at any time (at least once they are within the freedom of the West) to do like Sarah Haider did and leave Islam. She has the same exact ethnicity as her kin who are still Muslim. (And of course she is a woman.) I embrace her and I do not embrace them. What I did deny, and continue to deny, is that I oppose the Squad (only two of whom are Muslim, by the way) because of the color of their skin or their ethnicity or anything like that. I’m not super keen on having a lot of practitioners of the Muslim religion in Congress, any more than I’m keen on having a lot of Baptists or Mormons in Congress. Is English perhaps not your native language? If I say something I believe to be true, it’s not a lie. You may feel sure that my belief is unwarranted, but even if you prove as much to a metaphysical certitude, that still does not make it a lie. Slacker once shared with me the technique that he uses when he gets pinned down in a debate: its a subtle pivot. Just enough that the person Slacker is arguing with gets sucked into arguing something else. It a tactic Slacker uses quite successfully. Very few if any people are just “good” or “evil”. I would call the people you’re talking about my political adversaries. But I don’t hyperventilate or stagger over to a fainting couch when they make up ridiculous bullshit or pass it on. I just calmly try to help my team win the PR war.
