Likely we’d be “rushing” to demand a full and serious investigation, and we’d be critical of anyone who denigrated her simply for coming forward and making an accusation. Which is pretty reasonable after a serious accusation, right?
If it’s these kind of fantasies about hypothetical evil liberals that’s causing this belief, then I’m afraid there’s not much us real world non-hypothetical (and non-evil) liberals can do about it. You’ll have to look inside for that one.
Evidently you can’t read the post (that I quoted). In no way did the poster I quoted call for ANY investigation, serious or otherwise, just a simple, "I don’t believe her’
The poster said “I don’t believe it”, not “I don’t believe her”. And there have been investigations into this by journalists, which is entirely appropriate for weird accusations against politicians.
But this is different than sexual assault. We don’t live in a society that treats people like shit for making accusations about some strange marriage situation. We do live in a society that treats people (and especially women) like shit for making accusations of sexual assault. Sexual assault really should be treated differently becuase our society does such a terrible job at it. This is improving, but only a little bit. Women are still regularly treated like shit for nothing more than speaking out about their own experiences.
Yes, we live in a society where it is ok when your side does it. I got it. Being called a liar is being called a liar.
Talking out of the side of your mouth is not only condoned, it is also what we have come to expect … And that bodes terribly for our continual slide into the depths of hell for our society.
As far as the marriage topic is concerned, the statements on the right have been that Omar deletes everything they find to support their case. And the reaction on the left has been to claim falsification of social media posts by the right, rather than that they have taken genuine screenshots of (now deleted) posts by Ilhan.
That claim is weaker if we know that she does in fact delete stuff. The falsification case is weaker.
Whether the evidence from the right points to brother marriage or not be as it may, it is relevant in terms of evaluating evidence.
This is not accurate. The claim “on the left” is that no actual evidence that she married her brother has been put forth. Just rumor and innuendo. That she sometimes deletes social media posts puts her in a group of millions (or perhaps billions) that includes pretty much every person I know that posts on social media (including myself).
And yet, many on this illustrious website claimed that it was more reasonable to believe that the posts were done up by professional deep fakers than to buy in to the idea that she might have deleted them before the proper media could come looking.
If you are innocent of that, then the news isn’t relevant to you and that’s fine.
And again with this too!?
Your love of hyperbole is blinding you from proper judgement of what is “reasonable.”
It’s quite reasonable to assume she made and deleted the post herself for entirely mundane and innocuous reasons.
It’s also reasonable to consider the possibility that some rando with an axe to grind whipped up something on photoshop, entirely without “professional deep fake” credentials.
I see an oblique mention by BigT in this thread, though I don’t think that he was endorsing it. GIGOBuster refused to say what he was talking about one way or the other but pretty strongly implied that evidence had been falsified, so I lean towards him believing that information was falsified but that he’s realized that he’ll look like an idiot now if he actually says it.
Otherwise, the majority of examples are in the previous thread.
And, as said, if you’re not in that camp then it’s not relevant to you. If you have done the braining, then I congratulate you for that. My animosity is against those who did the stupid instead and then decided to piss in other threads about it. I suspect that they’ve been suitably subdued by this point, but I’m not above rubbing it in.
But in the United States today, the bigots attack those of a particular, shall we say, skin hue. The bigots assume those “swarthy” types are undesirable, foreign, and especially Muslim. It matter not what the facts about them are; all that matters is the bigots’ perception. And that perception has proven to be fatal to the swarthy “other”.
If I were to check every post you’ve made on this site, will there be any posts which you have edited?
Well, depending on the situation, my wife calls me by nickname (which I prefer) or by the name by brothers and sister call me, or by my legal name. I guess that means, to people with Sage Rat’s mental acuity, my wife is likely married to three men at the very same time!
Indeed, it’s more likely that I edited my posts than that I hacked the server and edited the database to list my posts as edited. The latter is not impossible but it’s less probable.
I lean towards the likelihood that I have edited my posts rather than falsified them into “edited” condition. And if someone decided to opt to say that I did it through hacking, then I would say that they should do the work and prove it rather than simply make the assertion and treat that like proof.
No idea, but there is about a 7% chance that your wife is unfaithful to you based on population studies.
If you find a guy listing his address as your home address, where you cohabit with your wife, on his marriage application and lists your wife as his partner on that same application, that may explain where all your strawberries are disappearing to.
Perhaps you should get a better “population study”, perhaps one that includes more pertinent demographics.
I have no control over what someone puts on a piece of paper. Oh, and you’re still insane and dishonest. Maybe emptying out my ignore list was not a peachy idea.
