Not because I believe in this fascist, but because I have been hired to shoot it. I will be working on Pennsylvania Avenue itself, just in front of the White House and the reviewing stand. If you watch the televised coverage, you will be watching my work now and then. While it is always interesting to bear witness to a historical moment, I am utterly not excited about doing this. There is pride in my craft but no joy in the message of the day. Is anyone attending the ceremonies or the parade, or attending the march in Washington on Saturday? I have a couple of friends going - they had booked hotel and flights assuming a Clinton victory, and instead are going to be there for the protest march instead of cancelling. ---

That’s pretty neat. How many times in a lifetime does one get an opportunity to film a Presidential inaugural thingy-a-doohicky. I read an article that was talking about inaugurals and that about the average a person sees happen in their lifetime is about 15. So this may be a once in a lifetime thing and who knows man maybe your footage will make into the history books or The Library of Congress. How cool would that be? I’d be stoked if that happened to me. ---

I work near Penn. Ave., and I walked around to look at the review stands, barricades, etc. being erected tonight. My kids are too little to take downtown into the crowds tomorrow. ---

I will be at the March on Saturday. FWIW I see no conflict at all in doing your job while disliking the PE. The more the world sees of him the better. He doesn’t hesitate to show his defects, but if the press stops covering him no one will have the chance to see them. And the parade is the result of a lot of hard work by the various artists and performers. Refusing to honor their work and let it be seen does nothing to lessen the trouble that the PE can cause. Go. Do good work and be proud of this opportunity. IMHO you are not supporting any wrongdoing. ---

This will be one of the shortest parades in history. If you remove the Military units, you are left with, I kid you not, High School Marching Bands. Including the one I attended, 1964-67. In a hick town in S. IN. This is pathetic. Springsteen was “not available”, so they booked a cover band. Even the cover band (“B Street Band” - :rolleyes:) backed out, citing their resistance to violating Bruce’s principles by performing his music for this “person” ---

There are many inaugural balls planned each time. The one the cover band was scheduled for was run by a bipartisan delegation from New Jersey. They run it every inauguration. This band has played it before. They were booked long before the election. They were not playing because Springsteen wouldn’t. Springsteen does not get booked for parties. They were not playing for Trump. There is no reason why they shouldn’t be able to play their biggest gig but they were pressured to give it up. ---
