I solved today’s Redactle (#25) in 28 guesses with an accuracy of 75.00%. I solved Semantle #93 in 43 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 3.77. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #21. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 45.25 (892/1000). Yeah, and that guess at #21 was 8 away from the target. ---

I solved Semantle #93 in 69 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 21.38. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #4. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 40.82 (775/1000). Bah. Great start, terrible finish. ---

I noticed that Semantle will give you hints, now, so I gave it another goal. Still frustrates the heck out of me and not in a good way. But Redactle! I’ve been loving Redactle. And since this is apparently also the Redacle thread… What do y’all consider a ‘win’ on Redactle? There are some puzzles that are simply impossible if the correct answer isn’t floating somewhere in your mind. One of the first ones I did was **Atahuallpa.** I narrowed it down to the point that I knew it was the last Incan emperor, but that name simply isn’t in my lexicon. Another was **exponential distribution**. After lots of guesses, I’d figured out that it involved statistics and probability and even had a decent idea of what the concept was about. But short of randomly guessing the correct words, I was never going to actually solve the puzzle. Both of those required googling, but I still count it as a win. For today’s, I had to look at a map, but I knew where to look and so I count that as a win also. A funny one was for “screw,” from a few days ago. I very early uncovered a heading with the phrase “versus natural language” and spent a ton of time in linguistics-related territory before finally veering in the right direction. I did solve that one eventually. ---

I solved Semantle #93 in 24 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 12.50. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #6. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 30.69. Re Redactle, I don’t consider googling to be out of bounds, though googling exact quotes from the article or limiting the search to wikipedia seems more of a gray area in my opinion. ---

I solved Semantle #94 in 66 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 2.85. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #19. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 24.32 (745/1000). I solved today’s Redactle (#26) in 145 guesses with an accuracy of 68.97%. I gave up today’s Semantle at Guess 216 after using 2 hints and my first green was guess 85. Today will be better. ---

I solved Semantle #96 in 39 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 3.42. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #3. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 22.37. The same count as @emulsified on the previous puzzle. 🙂 Many versions of similar words, but I did finally get there. ---
