Oh yes. It’s awesome. Especially if it’s done right and the fried egg has a runny yolk (but that’s a proper fried egg, period, never mind being on a burger). With fried mushrooms as well, and really good thick cut and very hot and crispy fries under the burger (medium rare, of course) to soak up the yummy combination of burger grease mingled with egg yolk dripping onto them. Around here a burger served with a fried egg on it has a name, too: a “Texas Burger”. Which apparently raises eyebrows from here to, well, to Texas from anyone actually from Texas who sees a menu item like that in a NY diner. Yet another entry in a long line of food named for “other” places for really no obvious reason whatsoever. ---

Sure, I’d give it a try. I like burgers, I like fried eggs (over hard, thanks). Hold the mustard and black pepper, though - my intestines revolt when I eat those. ---

In the wonderful anime series “Rozen Maiden”, hamburgers with fried eggs in the shape of flowers were the living dolls favorite dinner. They called them Flower Topped Hamburgers. In case you didn’t know… ---

It’s not the way I would make a burger, but if you’re cooking dinner, I’ll eat it. Egg on a burger wouldn’t be half bad, and even if it were, etiquette would still say that when someone else cooks for you, you don’t complain. ---
