In a book! Yes, it is time to drag out one of Unca Cecil’s favorite topics: **The Illuminati!** Secret brotherhood of scientists and anti-Papists out to control the world! Funded by a clandestine network of funding going further back than the Rothschilds, they have infiltrated every government and organization of power in the world!!!

MUAH-HAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!!!

Ooops - sorry; got a little carried away there.

Anyhoo, have you ever read this book called **Angels and Demons** by Dan Brown? He just came out with a book called the **Da Vinci Code** that got great reviews in the NY Times as a thriller with a somewhat higher IQ than most airport trash. So I find myself in a train station with nothing to read and see this earlier book of his - I’m thinkin’ hey, why not check this dude out?

And its all about the Illuminati! We’re talking secret symbols branded into the flesh of an enemy, a plot to blow up Vatican City, a tour through CERN, Yurp’s super-cutting-edge physics research facility. Galileo leading them, Raphael conspiring, tombs exploding - MASS HYSTERIA!

Have you read this book? What a hoot.

I assume you’ve read the _Illuminatus!_ trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson? Reading that as a teenager immunized me against any interest in the subject in later life.

(Incidentally, what the hell is “Yurp”? Is that supposed to be some hiply semiliterate way to write “Europe”?)

It is just a myth. Illusions to the contrary are simply light from Venus reflecting through cleaning bags filled with marsh gas. Fnord.

Yes, I confess, there was an attempt at “hip semiliterateness” and do appreciate your calling me on it. It will never happen again. Whew! I feel so much better now.
