At least on my resume. I used to think 1977-1989 said things like “project manager” and “engineering supervisor” but I now realize they said “old with increasingly-irrelevant experience.” But I’m not that gray and am too fat to wrinkle, so if they want to imagine I’m 45 I can play along. ETA: One application asked for a COMPLETE, all caps, work and salary history. The job was shit and other things about their attitude had told me I wouldn’t enjoy working there so I gave it. Back to 1966, delivering the weekly shopper newspaper for a penny each and bringing home a startling $1.75 per week. ---

Yeah, I’ve dropped everything before 1987. Unfortunately, there was one job I was at from '92 to '06, so I can’t shave much beyond that. ---

Good luck checking with dead supervisors at extinct businesses. ---

In 45 years of working I have two former employers that are still in business.
