A couple of months ago, I got home to a message from my landlord telling me he was selling my apartment, a unit in a condominium. Today, it became official; he sold it to me. Folks, this is a long story filled with stress, complications, frustrations, depressions, and various and sundry other unpleasantness, so I’ll spare you. I’m still rather amazed by this development; if you’d told me I’d own a home even three months ago, I would have said you were crazy. On the other hand, I’ve got the impressive stack of documents, not to mention stunning load of debt to prove it. This room in which I sit watching the sunrise and surfing the net in the morning is mine. I always fancied myself a rootless wanderer; now it appears I have an anchor. I suppose I should chalk up another bit of personal growth. I’m exhausted. No doubt I’ll sound a bit more enthusiastic later, but in the meantime, break out the champagne and chocolate folks! The mere fact that I survived this merits a celebration! 😃 CJ (Ok, so, if I’m not rootless anymore, can I still be ruthless? ;)) ---

Just think, when the roof leaks, **you** get to take care of it. When the toilet won’t stop running, **you** get to replace all the toilet innards. When your condo needs painting, **you** get to do it. When the AC/Heat acts up **you** get to pay for fixing or replacing it. Ain’t home ownership grand? 😃 Congratulations! ---

Yay! I was wondering how that was going. Congrats! Now they can never kick you out (as long as you pay the mortgage), never come in with or without notice and you can make it as messy as you like. I’m doing a happy dance in your honor! 😃 ---
