I’m with you, at least usually.
I’m a stickler, unless I’m angry then I’m typing too fast to care.
I once got a very interesting text though, from someone who sent it to me by mistake. It was pretty nasty and vile but the spelling and punctuation were almost perfect.
It seemed odd because you’d expect someone using that language wouldn’t care about correct grammar and spelling.
Actually, with sexting, it’s the correct manipulation that counts.
I try to text down, sometimes, but can’t make it to the send button.
Meh I’m 46 and use text speak all the time when communicating with my kids or text savvy people but to most adults generally not.
Reminds of the story that may or may not be true.
girls sent a text to her mum telling mum that her dog died, mum responded LOL. Daughter thought WTF and asked mum why she was laughing, apparently the mum thought it stood for lots of love.
Sure, and when I had an HTC I used it. However, the implementation - or the built-in vocabulary - on my current SGS2 sucks donkey balls, so that was the second “feature” I turned off (after the annoying “click when you type” sounds).
That said, chalk me up as one of those who only use txtspeak when I’m running out of writing space. Real words make the message so much easier to read. And while I’m at it: get the heck off my lawn!
I use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalisation. If I send a message while on my PC, using a free app that makes the message seem to be from my phone, I am restricted to 160 characters. If I need to I edit and reword the message to conform with the limit.
I am too. However, I dislike texting and hardly ever see the point of it, so almost all the messages I send are “Yes” “No” “Thanks”, etc…
I’ve never texted anyone - don’t know if I can even do so from my phone - but if I did I would certainly use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalisation, just as I do in all my writing.
