I poured boiling water on my hand and didn’t get burned 😕 I was making tea and I always hold the corner of the tea bag as I pour in the boiling water. This morning as I poured the freshly boiled water, I misjudged and accidentally poured some onto my thumb and index finger. I thought “Oh no!” and quickly rushed over to the sink to pour cold water on it but quickly realized that it didn’t even hurt. I thought that meant that I’d really burned myself badly but nope! No burn and no pain. Weird, eh? ---

OMG. I do that all the time. I’ve been ruminating on a solution for tagless teabags for awhile. Someone probably already invented something and beat me to the punch for the big buck$. Oh, well. Glad you weren’t injured. ---

When you touch people, can you see the terrible things they’ve done? Have you noticed a [guy with a cockeyed haircut](https://www.geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Unbreakable-625x352.jpg) following you around in a wheelchair? Go downstairs to your bench press and have your son help you load it up with all the weight you can find. Duck tape paint cans to the bar if you have to. See how much you can lift. You may surprise yourself. ---

I did this with hot grease once. All up and down my forearm. Unlike the OP, that shit hurt. But that’s not what concerned me. I was worried about the blisters that were sure to come the next day. But they never did. All I had was mild discomfort for the next week and that was it. ---

If you put the teabag in after the cup is full, then you end up with a big bubble trapped in the bag, keeping it from properly immersing. And most of the water splashed off, so the little that was left, even though it was very hot, didn’t have much heat it could transfer to your finger. ---

If you hold the teabag by one corner and immerse it gently, then you don’t get an air bubble at all. That’s the whole point of putting the teabag into a full cup. Anyway, there _is_ a high-tech invention for dealing with tagless teabags. It’s called a ‘teaspoon’. ---

Tea is s’pose to be so refined. I make a mess with it everyday. I spill, splash and dribble allover the house. I find used teabags everywhere. I’m such a pig. I need to try harder.🙂 ---

Do you let the bag steep for a few minutes? Do you hold on to it the whole time? I suppose the next test of your superpowers would be to plunge your arm into a large pot of boiling water. I used to work in a coffee shop- on more than one occasion, when talking to a customer while making their drink, I managed to pour boiling water over my hand without even flinching, keeping an attentive customer service smile on my face. Oh, and always put the teabag in first, you will never get as good a brew if you add bag to water compared to pouring water over the bag.
