# I'm a vegan...but human's okay?  (TMI and Gross)

Really? Pretzels and bagels? I make my own, so I just boil them in sugar water, but I never knew that. Guess it just goes to show that what you don’t know can’t make you gag.

I am truly astounded that I have inadvertently provided so many opportunities for education in this thread. Cecil must be working through me as an instrument. 😃

This is my favorite part of the lotus birth site I previously cited:

"You can place the dry placenta in a disposable diaper. Salt down the placenta on both sides liberally. Tape the placenta up inside the diaper, it will drain a lot in the first few days…  
Or you can dry the placenta in a sieve, and place this into a larger bowl. This way air gets to all parts of the placenta to dry it quicker.

The placenta can start to smell, a kind of meaty smell."
