This is the first I’ve heard of the film. I’m excited now. It looks awesome. Hopefully it’s better than Brave. I hated that movie. ---

It’s a throwaway line, but it made me laugh: “Thank you, San Francisco. You’ve ruined pizza!” (Actually, Nwingland ruined pizza long ago. I’ll take a good California-style pizza with broccoli, as shown in the trailer, over one more soggy goopfest cut the wrong way…) ---

Wreck-It Ralph was a better film (and also not Citizen Kane). My guess would be that reviewers accept that they’re too corrupted by art films and foreign films to really be able to tell what makes a good kids’ film. But they know that they’ll lose readers if they trash them as being empty, formulaic nonsense, so they probably take the Google popularity, the production company’s previous record, and then keep score during the viewing for anything possibly offensive and rate the movie based on those metrics. ---

So does this movie have anything to offer for the kids? Or has Pixar made it’s first adult focused film. I’d hate to be at the theatre really enjoying this thing while the kids that got dragged their by their parents start to get bored and restless. Maybe better to save this one for home viewing? ---

I’m actually going with my parents, (I’m 34 years old.) I think that it looks like a movie that all ages will enjoy. ---

Both my brother and my dad have tastes that match professional movie reviewers fairly lockstep, due to watching 1000s of movies a year. They would both need to cheat if they wanted to review kids or popcorn movies and not lose their job. ---

In interviews as part of the build-up, they discuss the premise as focused on an 11-year-old girl and her emotions as she grows into a teen, and to serve as a “translator” of the underlying neuroscience of emotions to educate preteens about that they are going through and parents what to expect. So I hear. ---
