If you can’t get into a Canadian law school, consider going to an American law school and then seeking admission to a bar in Canada. More hoops and sometimes some upgrading, but doable. [404 Page Not Found](https://www.lawsociety.bc.ca/page.cfm?cid=2547&t=Completing-a-law-degree-outside-Canada)

Are the law schools in Calgary or other prairie cities easier to get into than BC or Ontario ones?

No law schools in Canada are easy to get into. If in doubt, apply to all of them and see if any bite the lure.

Going to a law school in the States could well result in you taking an extra year in Canada, to cover things like constitutional law, admin law, tax law, criminal procedure, civil procedure.

The basic common law core classes would be similar, but there is a lot that is different in the constitutional system and the operation of the courts.

A fellow I know took his LL.B. in Britain and then had to do a fourth year at a Canadian law school.
