Y’know, this is a pretty weak rant. Mick Jagger is under no obligation to give up his reservation to anybody. Neither is anyone else. Your average Joe is not obligated to give up his reservation for Mick, or the President. And if someone refuses to give up their reservation to ANY big shot, that’s fine with me. The owner explained that while the President might eat at his restaurant one time, his loyal customers eat there all the time, and he would never turn his regulars away just to satisfy one VIP. He knew that it was his regulars who had kept him open all those years. Damn right. I eat there every chance I get. ---

I haven’t read the other thread (yet). I only heard about this “international crisis” this morning on the local oldies music channel. So Bush didn’t get the suite which someone else had already reserved. **YAWN** Surely a PRESIDENT, with a full time professional staff can find some place equally nice or even nicer. Was Jagger rude? I don’t know. Was Bush himself angry or demanding? I don’t know. Maybe it was nothing more than The Battle Of The Staff Rats. Does it matter one way or the other? NO. He may not even care himself, so long as he has some place to go. Bush may be our president, but that’s all he is. He is not a king or a god. He is just a man. He can do just like the rest of us do - when a place doesn’t give us what we want, we take our business elsewhere. Barring that, they can settle it like real men, in a Celebrity Death Match. 🙂 ---
