I was feeling down, but I went to a great concert, and now I feel better. 🙂 My local orchestra played some beeeeautiful music by Rachmaninoff and John Adams! And the octobass was used! That’s a huge-ass double bass. My local orchestra is the only orchestra in the world to have one. ---

Work went well. I had a Booster Club meeting. Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 84 and N.O.S. for the day. So, we’re havin’ Spring weather now. No big plans for the day. I have a couple of errands to take care of and I foresee a trip to the liberry. We shall sup upon majik intartoobz pizza. **Midget** glad you’re feelin’ better. With a couple of wakes, I managed to sleep till nearly 7!!! WOW! And we’re getting mid-70s today, but tomorrow’s high isn’t supposed to hit 60. But, no, climate change is a hoax… 😛 When \*\*FCD \*\*decides to get his butt in gear, we’re going out for breakfast. I’ll do some laundry today, and I’m thinking I’ll even change the sheets on our bed. I do need to vacuum - lots of cat bits and leaf bits everywhere. So an exciting day at FairyChatEstates. And I do mean edge with lots of stuff around it. I have however, at another location and time, had the chance to fire both the minigun and the original H&K CAWS. I have GOT to get me one of those for duck hunting. 🙂 (Although right now its ------- wabbit season) Up and generally puttering around the house. May hit SubWay for dinner to celebrate National Sandwich Day with their semi-bogo deal. ---

**ruble,** it’s Duck Season! **boo,** once took the train from London to Edinburgh as part of a trip. Long but enjoyable. **red,** don’t think I ever had a boss (direct or intermediate) that I worked for that long; hope the new boss works out for you. Have two gentlemen in my attic (no, they are both alive and unfettered) trying to puzzle out why my automatic heat control doesn’t automatically heat the house. I thought it was just the thermostat, apparently it is something deeper in the bowels of the machine. We shall see. Still haven’t done the November shopping, if they finish soon I’ll go out and do it and perhaps dine at Mac’s Place. Signed up for 3 soccer games tomorrow…with rain expected. Oh Joy. ---

**BooFae**! Are you on the SDMB list on the NaNo site? I should know list, but I don’t. I am dragging today. We have apparently landed straight in Winter now. Already had Frost a few times. I like Winter, but I would have liked more Fall. Per the usual, I am chasing the kids to get ready for school. It’s amazing what they can find to do instead of silly things like getting dressed. 😛 ---

Home from birfday breakfast, a quick stop at WalMart, and a detour to **FCD** ’s office because he’s unclear on the concept of “day off.” I’m going to start a purge of the 2 guest bedrooms for when daughter, SIL and grandbaby move in. We’ve decided to get rid of the dresser and night stands (and the bed - they’ll bring their own) as well as the old hutch in the smaller of the bedrooms. We’re keeping the armoire for the baby’s stuff. I need to rehome my accordion - anyone wanna buy it? Vintage 1961! I’ll make you a deal!!! There’s other crap that just needs to go away. So today I start. We’ve got till June to get it all ready, but no sense in waiting till May to start, right? I’ve also pulled out some butter to soften - I’m going to make oatmeal cookies since they’re **FCD** ’s favorites. Because I’m nice, dammit. It’s a loverly day - the windows are open. Hard to believe it’s this mild in November. OK, time to work! ---

**Blurfage** I have a sore throat and I guess I caught the sick my girl has/had. Dammit. Anyway I called the doc and shall go see him at 4pm cause if I need medicine I want to get started sooner than next week. Is it illegal to tell employees they can’t come to irk sick? I would guess so. ---

I have had employers state something very similar to that in the past, but also then we had a culture that encouraged people never to take time off for any reason (ah, Silicon Valley). We were all on call, 24/7. That aside, I’m not sure why it would be illegal. You’re not discriminating, presumably they have sick leave, and you’re protecting other workers. Feel better soon! ---

My niece had her baby last night. Which makes me a gruncle. The baby was due to arrive on my birthday but chose to delay for several days. Don’t think I won’t remember this, Little Daphne, when I’m drawing up my will. ---

Howdy Y’all! I’ve been somewhat productive. I took some big steps towards gettin’ the master bedroom closet organized. It’s gettin’ better but still needs work. Also I read for a while and achieved nappage. All in all a good day so far. Tomorrow mornin’ I shall go over to the church house to help with the pecan harvest. We have a bumper crop, well, for us, this year. We use those little pecan roller thingies so it’s not too hard of a job. **Nemo** congrats on becomin’ a gruncle. I am one several times over. The two oldest are married even which means I could be a great gruncle in the not too distant future. ---

I baked a double batch of oatmeal cookies and while they’re yummerrific, they look awful. I’m thinking that using the stand mixer to cream the butter and sugars isn’t a good idea. But I so hate doing it by hand. \*\*FCD \*\*is napping - that’s what happens when you get old. Except he’s younger than I am! Dunno what we’ll do for supper - cookies and milk, maybe? 😃 ---
