It’s not happening. Trump won New Hampshire by winning the votes of 35% of the Republican primary voters. As other candidates drop out, their support will coalesce behind one of the other candidates. You don’t think a Kasich voter will switch over to Trump, do you? At the end of the primary season Trump will still be polling 35% and someone else will be at 65% and that’ll be it. Even if he manages to lock up enough delegates to be nominated he won’t get more than 35% in the general election. He’s guaranteed that, because 35% of everyone is batshit crazy, but no more than that. ---

I think if you laid out Trump’s views from before Bloomberg became mayor of NYC by running as a Republican (which is where I think he got the idea that he could win elections by running as a Republican in a town where Democrats would often run unopposed to elected office), I think you would see a platform of positions that looks a lot like the Democratic party platform.
