I’ve been locked away in this old-folks home for a year, and my psyche is wearing thin. I cannot, and don’t want to, go home until I can walk, but with CORVID\*-19 oops. continued below ---

stalking the place (one resident is hospitalized with it) all therapy is out. I’m stuck watching TV and Youtube and posting here. You people and the cast of Big Bang Theory are pretty much my only company since the staff isn’t allowed to spend extra time with the residents. Oh, and my kids, who gab on Messenger for a while every day. I’m so bored I nap a lot, and my imaginary friends have begun to play in my half dreams. I’m going nuts. - - I miss my crows, who were wiped out in the West Nile Virus epidemic. ---

As for mental health, perhaps [this](https://jeff-kober.com/knowledges/daily-thoughts/) could be some small comfort. An American Buddhist named Jeff Kober offers a bit of wisdom each day (often, quotes by others — including medical professionals). (I’m not proselytizing — I wouldn’t even call myself a Buddhist). Certain recent posts have helped me stay sane during these stressful times. ---

Okay, where was I? Although I thought this dump had contributed only one COVID-19 patient to the local hospital population, it was actually two, one resident and one staff, and both have joined the choir invisible. Eeek. I knew the staffer. ---

Can you do some P.T. with video guidance from your therapist? What about chair yoga? It’s very low impact, and designed for folks with limited mobility. According to the wound care nurse we don’t have any cases. “None?” I asked. “We’ve had at least two, both now dead.” “But those aren’t active cases; that’s why I just took your temperature.” I guess they haven’t heard that you can be contagious days before you start to show symptoms. :smack: ---

Can you leave the home for a while and live with family? They’re not doing rehab and, frankly, those places are death traps right now. You can rent a scooter or something to get around for now. ---

are you restricted to the amount of time you are online? If not, you can play Innogames The West, Forge of Empires and Elvenar in a browser or they have them as apps for tablets. We have a decent bunch of people gathered together in The West on the Colorado Server [I play as Aruvqan, go figure=)] I would be willing to help you get started - it is a very low level game- mainly gathering resources by doing jobs [starting at 15 seconds then 15 minutes then 1 hour as you graduate up in levels]that gets you dollars and products you can use to tradecraft with, clothing and weapons that may be upgrades to your equipment, little or bigquests, some dueling and such. If you go to innogames, they tell about the different games they offer. They are free to play, but if you want in game goodies you can buy gold/crystals/whatever ingame ubermoney is called. But you can play without just fine. We type chat a lot with each other especially when fort fighting =) ---

Or for that matter, spend your days on Amazon Mechanical Turk doing silly little tasks for real money. If you call pennies a task either “real” or “money”. I haven’t paid any attention to that for a long time. Is AMT still a thing? ---
