Scabs are nice, but for sheer erotic pleasure, you need to peel a sunburn. Trying to get as much as you can with one slow peel…that kinda “rrrip” sound it makes…_pleasure shudder_ ---

Oh, hey, you don’t need to tell ME that. Two years ago, I got one of the worst sunburns of my life (same bike, actually). I totally _cooked_ both of my legs, to the point that I couldn’t even bend my knees for about a week. When the peeling started, it was _delectable._ I was getting so much square-inchage that I considered making a book out of my epidermis-shards. (How do you like Dubuque, by the way? I know you used to live in IC, so we were probably neighbors for a while. Dubuque is hilly but has some really cool old houses.) ---

Ooh, how about callus-peeling? Every time I go hiking for more than a day or two I get a huge water blister on each foot, which eventually settles down to a full-sole callus. Peeling those puppies is freaking incredible-- imagine ripping off hearty strips of skin a millimeter thick. It’s a gift that keeps on giving for about half a year. ---

A dozen or more years ago, I worked in a hospital, where I could get sterile hollow syringe needles to puncture myself without infection. They were GREAT on blisters. It was awesome. We are some sick bastards, aren’t we? ---

I buy lancets over the counter for testing my blood sugar. They don’t ask for any sort of ID. Lancets are pretty short, but very good for opening a zit that won’t pop. It’s been a while since I’ve had a blister, so I don’t know how lancets work on them. I’ll probably be picking a few scabs myself in a couple of days…my husband is out on his farm, doing maintenance, which means he’ll probably come home with quite a few scrapes and such. ---

There’s a bar in Prescott, Wisconsin, right at the confluence of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers, called Scab’s Place. I just bought one of their hats last weekend. It says, “Scab’s Place” on the front, but on the side it says: _Thanks for picking Scab’s._ I’ve looked to see if they have a website, but I can’t find one. The one site that looks like their website has a Yahoo email address that doesn’t work.
