my sister fell out of a moving car once. nearly lost a boob. THAT was one hell of a scab. i fell asleep in the pick-up with my feet out the door (the doors were open - we were camping.), and got bad, bad sunburn on the bottoms of my feet - nowhere else. they were a bitch to peel, but the skin looked real cool under a microscope. ---

Scab Update: I’ve only got one really good one left. There’s a small one on the second knuckle of my left hand which is still doing its thing, but it’s small and insignificant. All of the major ones are gone, and I’m left with lots of healing pink places…except for: The Scab From HELL!! (cue scary music) I have one (count 'em: ONE) major scab left right below my right knee. It is currently about 1 x 1/2 inches (although, to be fair, it’s been losing small chunks of its perimeter for a few days, so it used to be bigger, I _swear_), and is really thick, black and chunky. Like tree bark. It’s a standoff: it looks at me, I look at it. We both know what’s going to happen. It’s only a matter of time. If I pick it now, it will bleed. If I wait, then it won’t. The conflict is intense. Tree bark. I have tree bark on my leg. And not that smooth “paper birch” kind of tree bark. We’re talking cottonwood. Walnut. Gnarly bark you could grate Parmesan cheese on bark. I must go think about this. ---

I am indifferent to scabs during the healing process, but after all that excitement, you need to make sure that you have scars afterwards. So pick that bad boy. Scabs are passing fun, scars are forever! ---
