**Kythereia** , as a crazy man, I have a bit of advice. Embrace the craziness. It’s somehow both self-satisfying and self-rewarding. It really helps you understand that you weren’t thinking like most of “them”. And if you have any disorder(s), once they’re treated, you’ll be shocked that there is a different way to feel about everything. I started a thread or two looking for advice on my nutiness and got some really good feedback. Condensed version: After 20+ years of not feeling right, I broke down and went to a competent M.D., psychologist and psychiatrist to team up and find I was bipolar and ADD-addled. Got the script 6 months ago for the ADD and manic episodes and felt great. A month ago I hit a very, very down spot and an anti-depressant was added. I never knew people were supposed to function this way! Life isn’t so daunting anymore. Best of luck to you and sorry for the long story. Just trust the doctor if he or she is good and don’t ever be ashamed of it. You weren’t able to supervise the wiring in your head, why would you be responsible for something being not quite right? Oh, and the voices? If you’re lucky enough to hear them, too, listen to them. In my case I’ve learned that everyone is, in fact, out to get me. 😉 ---

Ooooh, another crazy person! I’m not crazy, myself. More sort-of eccentric. Well, maybe not so much eccentric, more kinda generally odd, and well removed from societal norms. But if you wanna go crazy, I’d be happy to come with. ---

**Kythereia,** I’ve always enjoyed your posts, not to mention your fine grasp of mythology. What helped me in my depression was realizing it wasn’t me, it was just some chemicals in my brain making me feel so out of it. For me, that realization meant that I no longer looked for other people to be the cause of my moods, and it freed up a lot of energy (and didn’t hurt my relationships, either…). Best wishes to you, goddess. I will sacrifice some pepperoni in your honor today. ---

I simply must ask. What is a goat straw and how does one felch it? I had a thought but it was so completely, thoroughly obscene that I was immediately forced to censor my own thought pattern before my mother could read my mind. Of course my mother reads minds. She can read your mind. You should be ashamed of yourself. She made me say that. Yes, the government knows about her. They’re all afraid of her. _hugs_ Even though I’m a total stranger 🙂 As with all illness, the important thing is getting treatment. ---

Welcome to the crazy club, **Kythereia** , and good on you for tackling your problems so early - it takes courage to do that, especially when you’re relatively young. It took me about 20 sometimes rocky years longer than you to seek help for my depression and anxiety disorder, and I wish I’d sought help much earlier. I’m sorry, but I need further elaboration on this whole “felched by a goat straw” thing. What is a goat straw? Did you mean felched by a goat with a straw? Or is this a straw that the goats use when they visit your house and have a smoothy, like a goat’s straw or the goat’s straw? If this is the case, since it is a goat’s straw, is the goat doing the felching, as in the first case, or is some other animal or a person using the goat’s straw to do the felching? If this is the case, I must say that a person using a goat’s straw is REALLY GROSS!! I mean, a goat’s mouth is FILTHY!! ---
