No threats of collections, but way more than two bucks of my time shot to call them and get someone to clear the hold three months later as someone forgot to clear it when they processed my check. ---

Your opinions required here… I bought a ring on Etsy last week. It’s titanium with a tension set stone in it. I’ve had it on for three days and it’s already scratched. So, I sent the seller an email asking about the scratches and they responded that they were perfectly normal for titanium. I looked at their shop policies and it can’t be returned or exchanged because I’ve already admitted that I’ve worn it, but it kind of aggravates me as I planned to wear it all the time that it’s likely to get worse and worse. I happened to check their policies and it was listed in there that titanium scratches easily (but it wasn’t mentioned in the ring’s listing). In all of my purchases on Etsy I have never read a sellers policies before buying something. Shame on me, I guess I’ll do so from now on. So, do I have any options here other than just lesson learned and suck it up? If it matters, the ring was $30. ---

I thought I had a titanium wedding ring, but it’s tungsten carbide. I love it because I can’t wreck it. 😃 It’s got a high polish and most likely a laquer on it, that coats the gold scrolling so I can’t destroy that either. This is needed, for me; I’m hell on things, especially rings. I would have thought the same of titanium; perhaps it’s a shoddy outer coating that’s scratching? Either way, I’d say maybe just insist on returning the ring; take a good look at their return policies and see if it’s possible. And thanks for the heads-up about titanium: we could easily have gotten that instead, and obviously that would not have been a good idea for me. A bit of googling brings up that titanium does scratch quite easily \ BUT…it is also quite easily fixed up with a fiberglass pen. I have no idea what a fiberglass pen is right now, but it might be worth your while to invest in one if you end up stuck with easily scratchable jewelry. ---

Whew - close call - I saw Higgs starting to assume the poop position and I yelled a fast “NO” followed by “Let’s go outside!” She followed me out, ran to the side yard, and pooped where she’s supposed to. That makes up for her peeing in the living room while daughter and I were eating… :rolleyes: One more hour, then she, followed by me, can go to bed. I’s tahred… ---

There’s nothing perfect for rings, but carbide gets close. Really difficult to scratch, impossible to dent, but it can break. But, there is the side benefit that it gives “fancy” jewelers conniptions as it’s really ceramic, rather than precious metal. My carbide wedding ring still looks almost new, but DH’s went all grubby and blotchy. No idea why. Beef stew was delish. I failed to mention earlier one of my secret ingredients, the ingredient upon which I render my succulent variations… Tomato paste. ---

We have kitties! Mrs. Plant v.3.0 rescued two large kittens from her place of employment. They had been eating trash and were to be “trapped”, their future unknown. A tortoise shell and a calico. Penny, my rescue more or less wire haired dachshund has a scratched nose, as she deserves for barking at a superior creature. Mrs. Plant v.3.0 will ask the vet to check them out tomorrow. ---
