**MOOOOOOM** I’d ask. You were invited and really the inviter should have already followed up with directions or apologies that the party has been cancelled. IMO it’s rude of him not to have done so. Since we all know that many, many others are beggin’ you to attend their soirees this weekend you need to know whether or not you are free to delight and grace one of the many other potential hosts/hostessess with your presence. 😃 ---

Well it begins, my street is about to be rebuilt. 10 blocks 18 to 24 months. New sidewalks, water and sewer, driveway spoons, drainage and utility poles Street will be spanking new concrete Survey crews have been marking, test cores drilled and today new utility poles were dropped off Well here we go, it will be interesting. Getting in and out of my driveway on the M/C will be a test for sure That’s all for now **Jim** ---

[/QUOTE] It wasn’t a merger. Sears was circling the drain, and Kmart bought them. Then, much like how Norwest bought Wells Fargo and went with the “better” name that had international recognition, when Kmart bought Sears, something called Sears Holding Company was created to keep the marginally more upscale Sears name alive. IMO, they should have spun out Craftsman Tools as a stand-alone business and scrapped everything else. {{ **FairyChatFamily** }} Blurf. Back from the first day of silly course, and still totally full of blurf. Didn’t sleep a wink last night, because I have a horrid cold, and every time I lay down I got so full of snot I kept waking myself up. I know you didn’t really want to know that, but now you do. The attitude of the course can be summarised thus- in the intro, they stated how _amazing_ the course was for having a pass rate of 92%- no colleges or universities have a pass rate that high, which proves it must be awesome! … Yeaaaah. So, basically everyone who doesn’t drop out passes, and people can’t generally drop out because they were sent there by the job centre, and would lose their benefits if they did. They’re also doing stuff like filming it and showing us a ‘training montage’ at the end. There are not enough :rolleyes: in the world for such things in my view. I do get a useable first aid certificate out of it- which I’m doing tomorrow- and some new ‘interview’ clothes, but most of the rest of it is stuff like a ‘Basic Employability Skills Certificate’, which I’m sure is almost as good as a degree in the eyes of most employers, and not just an ‘Everyone gets a certificate’ bit of filler to get more funding at all. It goes on til next friday- I’m not sure if I can contain the snark for that long. ---

I expected to wake up feeling like [http://i49.tinypic.com/35ls1w1.jpg](http://i49.tinypic.com/35ls1w1.jpg) , but I’m not as blurfy as I expected. Tired, but in a ‘finally cool enough here to appreciate a blankie and now I don’t want to get out of bed’ blurf. Spacing off while driving MrTao to work, daydreaming about the food cart I want to run. It will have posole, ALL the time, and then I’ll add some other stuff. Still too dreamy-feeling to think about it too hard. Coffee is happening~ That should help. ---

I once told a friend there should be a quota on the number of assholes one should have to deal with in a life time and I know I met my quota years ago. She said no, not how it works, that God takes great delight in churning out more and more everyday just for the entertainment value. I used to take it as a challenge, an exercise in creativity and flexibility, a chance to grow and mature, an opportunity for self improvement. If nothing else they were an example of how not to be. Even when I was a corporate drone I’d get paired up with the ‘difficult’ people that nobody else wanted to work with because I could handle them. Now, I’m running out of :rolleyes: and I just want to smack them. 😃 **Spidey** I’m watching you. That is an interesting question because you’re right, there’s nothing you can do in the middle of the night but I imagine most people would still want to know right away. I know I did when my father died, although it was during the day and I had already left work because… well that’s a long story. I wanted to see his body as well even though everybody told me not to. {{{Taters}}} I feel for you, but I can tell you it does get easier with time. It’s after 1pm and I haven’t even had breakfast yet, and it’s time to go walk hell pup. I’ll grab a burger on the way or I will be too shaky to walk anything let alone a bouncy 100 pound puppy. ---
