I’m glad that other than saying “it was too soon” Ebert is sticking to his guns and not giving the usual "I didn’t know words could hurt’ apology. The Phelps Family Singers are planning to picket the funeral of course. Let’s see- Ryan’s best buds are attention whores who have next to no fear of consequences and love disgusting stunts… please lord let this be the one. Ryan would have wanted it that way, guys. ---

I agree with this. I really can’t feel too bad at what happened to him. He pretty much was asking for it. But I do see a difference in intent. I think there’s a big difference in actually trying to cause pain vs. criminal irresponsibility. Hard to argue he didn’t deserve what he go though. Over twice the legal alcohol limit **and** over twice the legal speed limit? After one DUI? I can see having a bit of empathy over one mistake, but over this sort of compounded stupidity?
