Thanks, Jr. Modcop. I’ve reported your post for acting as a moderator when in fact you aren’t one. But in any case, I’d like a cite to the specific rule. But I really think you are overestimating the psychological impact of poorly written Star Trek fanfics. It’s awful, yes, but we need to be ever vigilant against the encroachment of these sorts of crappy writing. Douchebag. ---

The first person to get mad in that thread was the OP. Yeah, I can see how Lamia’s comments might be seen as being inspired by anger, but I can also read them as being quite calm. If the OP wanted a Pit thread about that thread, it would be about nitpicking. Or arguing semantics. Clearly the point of the OP was that images may have high enough resolution that we won’t have to enhance the image (by interpolation) when we zoom in. ---

Mainly because some people cant fricking read. Don’t get me wrong, I can type some really imprecise crapola at times. But sometimes I write exactly what I intended to exactly how I wanted to make a very specific point. Then somebody comes along, says A = B, and B is bad and stupid and wrong or whatever, all the while I am saying "no, you retard I said A ! ". If you misintepreted my post on the first go around fine. No harm no foul. But don’t keep fucking tell me what I intended to say or “really meant” unless you are a damn mind reader. ---

I think the other issue is the tendency to nail everything down to the last iota, even if it’s irrelevant to the question at hand. “Say that’s a mighty fine blue truck he’s got there!” “Well, strictly speaking, it’s more an aquamarine than a blue. What are ya, colorblind?” ---

Heh, I’d forgotten about that (probably because “fucktard” was not actually used as ivn suggested, which is kind of disappointing because “fucktard” in ATMB would make quite a splash and earn mod warnings and such which I usually find entertaining when they’re not directed at me) and actually I _am_ kinda proud of it, in the sense that even the person _making_ the accusation couldn’t support it and while he got some minor emotional support, he got far more criticism. I was planning to get all Socratic and sarcastic on them, but there was some rule that posts by newcomers had to be checked by moderators first and… something, I forget. And after a little while, the pointlessness of the exercise became even more obvious and I gave up. As for the fanfics, I have six of them on a related story arc. Anyone who wants a copy is welcome to them. If you haven’t read them, you’ve no basis to describe them as “shitty” or anything else. And if you google me some more, you’ll find I won a costume competition (best latex mask) at Toronto Trek one year. I had this lizard mask and put on a tuxedo and pretented to conduct a rendition of Beethoven’s Ninth. I was “Toskanini”. Just don’t confuse me with Brian Ekers, who works (or worked) for Her Majesty’s Printing Office in the U.K. I hate that guy.
