# I'm Going On A Mystery Trip

As you would know if you opened the thread about June birthdays, my birthday is coming up on June 9 (happy birthday to me, Johnny Depp, Michael J. Fox, and Cole Porter). This one is a biggied - I’ll be 40.
My loving wife told me last week that she had a surprise for my birthday - we’re going on a trip. She hasn’t told me where we’re going, only to pack for the beach, but to also bring my tux. She told me I should bring my passport (“Just in case we leave the country”), and that we’ll be gone for 5 days (leaving this afternoon and coming back Monday). That’s all she’s said, other than “I have so many surprises in store for you!”
How would you feel about this? I know some folks who hate surprises and want to be in control of everything - they’d be going nuts if they were in my situation. Me? I’m eating it up with a spoon.
I’ll give everyone an update on my mystery trip next week.

And the destination was…
**Club Orient** on the beautiful island of **St. Martin**
I’m burnt to a crispy, dark brown (all over - Club Orient has a huge clothing optional beach), about $1,000 richer (the tux was for a night out on the town, including some blackjack in the casino), and exhausted.
And my birthday isn’t even until Wednesday.
God how I love my wife - she’s incredible.
