Or an aunt, we don’t know what the baby is yet 🙂 My sister just called, and she’s going on 11 weeks pregnant! I’m so excited! _runs around the room giving out chocolate cigars_ Oh, wait, that’s supposed to be when the baby’s actually born, right? OK, make that chocolate cigarettes then. Gotta have some sort of chocolate, right? ---

Not that I have anything original to say, but Congratulations, Man! If you don’t get to name your niephew, do you at least get to control _any_ aspect of her/his life? 🙂 And though I’m afraid to ask, if the baby’s being a boy would make you an Uncle, and if the baby’s being a girl would make you an Aunt, what would the baby’s being a hermaphrodite make you? ---

Hey, Congratulations to a great guy! I’m sure you’ll make a fabulous uncle. Please keep us posted as to how the baby is doing. Your sister and brother in law decided on the name _before they started dating_, huh? (I say you call the kid “Chronos” and bribe him/her with one of those chocolate cigars every time he/she responds to you. Nothing like a little subversion to spice things up.) And yeah, you’ll get to control aspects of the kid’s life, particularly if you pull babysitting duties. I got one of my cousins interested in reading the Straight Dope, but she’s a little young and pure for this message board. 😉 ---

Congratulations to you and your sister Chronos … I remember when I first became an Uncle 🙂 And Uncles get to have the most fun because you don’t have the responsibility of discipline. Have a great time … but are chocolate cigarettes such a good idea? * * * TIME ELAPSED SINCE I QUIT CHOCOLATE: One month, one week, four days, 18 hours, 0 minutes and 50 seconds. 1670 snacks not eaten, saving $907.75. Congratulations. I am an aunt 6 times over. It is soooo much fun. I get to spoil the kids with none of the responsibility. YAY. I hope you enjoy being an Uncle and let us know if it is a boy or girl!
