I went to that Coke thing in Vegas and I told my little brother to try that Italian stuff. The look on his face was classic.
But as for stuff to do at Disney, definitely go on Space Mountain, repeatedly. And the FastPass thing is the world’s greatest invention. See a lot of the shows. And go on the Haunted Mansion. You can have a LOT of fun on that ride, especially if the ride stops during that one point where you are laying back… but you didn’t hear that from me.
Oh, and don’t throw jelly beans around while you’re waiting on line for rides.
All of these tips are great. The fast pass is definitely the way to go - especially for Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. We also never miss the Thunder Mountain Railroad and the Alien Encounter.
When/if you go to EPCOT, be sure to ride the Test Track ride (also a Fast Pass attraction). BTW, I believe all the attractions in Future World have corporate sponsors (GM, Kraft, MCI, Exxon, etc.) and just for fun go see Honey I Shrunk the Audience. I thought the Living Seas was kind of a waste of time.
Fast Pass is a gift from God to Man. Use it. A lot.
I was a big fan of the Toy Story Ride for the effects and the video game aspect. My family got to the point that we would all demand our own ship so that we could steer and line up our own shots. None of this captain and gunner teamwork, not a bit. We were there for a week and the last day was still a bloodthirsty competition for highest score and breakfast was spent trading tips. “Ignore the intro and start taking shots at the first room” “Line up your shots on one, immobile bullseye and keep aimed on it as long as you can.”
My dad still won. Re match pending.
With that said, relax. WDW is supposed to be fun, not a goal quest. Read up, think a bit, and make a short list of what you have to get done. Make it really short. Take your time and enjoy it! Disney World is a great environment to watch and experiance. They work hard to make it so that every where you look something delightful is happening. The only way you can avoid having a good time is beating all the fun out.
I’ve been to Universal Studios and Sea World. Both are definitely worth your while if you have the time. If not, on your next trip, go to SW and Universal.
If you like BIG, MEAN roller coasters, Kraken at SW is recommended, and so are Incredible Hulk and Dueling Dragons at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The Dudley Do-Right log ride at IOA is better than Disney’s Splash Mountain and their Popeye and Bluto white-water raft ride is better than the one at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Spider-Man is superior to any 3-D attraction at Disney. (In fact, Spider-Man, at IOA, is utterly unlike any other attraction anywhere in the world, combining both motion and 3-D.) Universal’s Terminator 3-D should not be missed. And I’d even put Universal’s Back to the Future ahead of Disney’s Star Tours.
Cirque D’Soliel (spelling, anyone who knows french?) at Downtown Disney. It’s incredible, and this is as a 32 year-old male who was pissed that my Mom bought me tickets for that instead of some shirts. Absolute jaw-dropping performances.
And if you’re in the Magic Kingdom, drop by Ariel’s Grotto–we had to stand in line for over half-an-hour for my daughter to get her picture taken, but again as a 32 year-old male, it was worth it if you get my drift. Ariel’s generally got these big…tracts of land.
jab1 has spoken the truth. universal’s islands of adventure is awesome. it is a very new park so the rides are top notch. the spiderman ride is unbelievable. if you do have mini humans with you (under 8) the doctor seuss area is so fun. if you have older kids or just adults the rides at universal are more interesting.
in disney i enjoyed animal kingdom, mgm, and epcot. i thought the living statue in the french area was very nifty. it was the only time i wanted a camera.
no matter where you decide to go, you will have a great time.
