I'm going to Iceland! What now?

I’ll check it out tomorrow at the office, if someone actually has that name

I bought 6 bottles of some Icelandic schnapps with moss or leaves in it as souvenirs for friends. Don’t. This turned out to be a vile concoction of pain and bitterness that should not ever leave that island.

Sadly enough, both I and my brother have enjoyed subjecting people to the “joys” of Brennivin-- the most polite comment was that it tasted like dirty socks.

Hey!. I LIKED Brennivin. It was strong, but not bad.

I’m sorry to say that at present, we have no Icelanders by the name of Grímey :frowning:

And Brennivín rocks! It just takes some time for you body to admit that it’s good

I’ve been to Iceland five times, four in summer and one in winter. All trips have been immensely enjoyable. I haven’t been back for ten years, I miss it quite a lot and I’m planning to do another trip this year. If only to visit the pools again!
The summer trips I travelled using my own small plane. Iceland has many small airfields and not just to major cities and towns. You wouldn’t believe how many airfields there are! Almost as many as hot pools. If you don’t believe me, look at the list on Iceland airfields.
I camped in many interesting places: Sprengisandur, Herðubreiðalindir, Myvatn, Grimsey, Þórsmörk… it’s the best way to travel, free of organized itineraries and reservations, just flying and camping and using my bike and my legs for local explorations.
If you have a chance to visit Herðubreið, take it!
