As the title says…I will be in Nashville soon. Any recommendations of what to do? Where to eat? Where to drink (live music is a bonus)? ---

Depending on what quality music you want, you wouldn’t be able to swing a dead cat without finding it. There’s hot chicken sandwiches, but don’t get the hottest. Our daughter, who loves all things spicy, couldn’t finish one. There’s also my birthplace, Baptist Hospital. Dunno if they’ve put up a plaque yet. ---

We were in Nashville for a week many years ago. I mostly just remember staying at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center, which was a great place, and I was impressed by its huge 9-acre indoor atrium. We’re not country music fans but a visit to the Grand Ole Oprey was pretty much essential. The Parthenon is cool and I also enjoyed a tour of Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage. He was quite an, um, character. I’ll also point out the correct spelling in this context is “Opry”. ---
