# I'm going to the doc next week but for now, what's with this?

I’ve finally started really paying attention, and I’m not imagining it: there are patches on my lower legs that are red and itchy, but not severely red or severly itchy…what’s troubling is that the skin and the d_ **eep tissue/fat** _ (I’m obese, have been to one degree or another my whole life) under the red itchy patches is very hard. It feels like really bad scar tissue.

I am troubled. And googling is useless. I could have everything from scleroderma to kidney disease to really nasty eczema.

So I’m off to the doc next week in just a general way and we’ll talk about it but Dopers are always full of interesting possibilities.
