From Cucinova, the “high-end” chain that Sbarro is testing in Columbus. Up to five locations, so a chain all by itself. Also pretty darn good. Topping: Steak on a pesto sauce. ---

One of my friends from Naples makes this type of pizza every so often (though I think it is more associated with Rome). I was a bit skeptical about the starch + starch combo, but it is excellent. ---

Y’know, I don’t see anything particularly wrong with the Hawaiian pizza (pineapple plus either ham or Canadian bacon, depending on whom you ask), but if you’re going to cut that down to one topping, why would you remove the meat and leave the pineapple? It seems to me that the reason for the pineapple is because that’s what goes well with cured salted pig. ---

It’s a great combo, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. But pineapple on its own just tips the scale too far to the sweet side for my tastes. ---

Oh god, if we could have any pizza, it would be a little defunct chain I used to go to with tiny, spicy pepperoni they put on top of the cheese so they’d get crisp and hold little puddles of grease. ---
